3G Footwear Requirements

We take great pride in maintaining our 3G pitch. All players, coaches, and spectators must follow our footwear and pitch-side guidelines.

3G Pitch Footwear Rules & Spectator Guidelines
At Cobham Football Club, we take great pride in maintaining our state-of-the-art 3G pitch. To ensure the surface remains safe, playable, and in excellent condition for years to come, all players, coaches, and spectators must follow our footwear and pitch-side guidelines.
By adhering to these simple rules, you help protect the playing surface and create a better experience for everyone using our facilities.

Approved Footwear for the 3G Pitch
Only certain types of football footwear are permitted on our 3G surface.
✅ Permitted Footwear
Moulded Stud Football Boots

Standard moulded plastic studs designed for artificial surfaces.
Suitable for both training sessions and matches.

Plastic Screw-In Studs
Plastic screw-in studs are allowed provided they are less than 15mm in length.
Studs must be in good condition and securely fitted.

Footwear Not Allowed
To prevent damage to the pitch and ensure player safety, the following footwear is strictly prohibited:

❌ Metal Stud Boots
Boots with metal blades.
Boots with metal-tipped or mixed metal/plastic studs.
Any screw-in stud longer than 15mm.

❌ Astro Turf Trainers
Turf trainers designed for hard or compact surfaces are not permitted on the main 3G playing area.

❌ Flat-Soled Footwear
This includes:
Running shoes
Indoor trainers
Fashion trainers
Any footwear without appropriate football studs

Keep Your Boots Clean
Before entering the pitch, please ensure:
Boots are clean and free from excessive mud.
Studs are in good condition and not damaged.
Footwear complies with the approved guidelines above.
Anyone wearing inappropriate footwear may be asked to leave the playing area to help protect the surface from unnecessary damage.

Spectator Information
We welcome family, friends, and supporters to watch sessions and matches. To ensure everyone’s safety and enjoyment, we ask spectators to observe the following rules:
Stay Behind the Green Fencing
All spectators must remain behind the designated green fencing surrounding the pitch area.

No Food or Hot Drinks
To maintain cleanliness and safety around the facility:
Hot drinks are not permitted onto pitch
Food is not allowed around the 3G playing area.

Forgot Your Boots?
We understand that players and coaches occasionally arrive without suitable footwear.
If this happens, please visit the clubhouse and speak to a member of staff about our Boot Bank, where suitable footwear may be available to borrow.

Help Us Protect Our Facility
The 3G pitch is a valuable asset for our club and community. Following these guidelines helps extend the life of the surface, improve player safety, and ensure everyone can continue enjoying high-quality football facilities throughout the year.
